After uninstalling IPA, I am getting error messages saying
"pro_to_ipa" not found when I run Pro/E
I

The
installation of IPA requires an "installation
password" available to Immersive Design customers
current maintenance contracts. If you are up to
date with your IPA maintenance and require the "installation
password" or would like to update your maintenance,
please contact Immersive Design at 978-266-1800
or send mail to: IPA
sales.
After installing IPA, I can't find the menu entry to launch IPA from Pro/E.
The
installation of IPA creates a file called PRODEV.DAT in the interop directory under
the IPA installation area in Program Files. If you do not already have a PRODEV.DAT file,
copy this file to i486_nt\text\usascii under the Pro/E installation area. If this directory
is not accessible, add a PRODEVDAT entry to your CONFIG.PRO. This entry should
look like this:
PRODEVDAT C:\Program Files\Immersive Design\IPA 8.1\interop\prodev.dat
Make sure the directory specification that you use matches the location of the PRODEV.DAT file on
your machine.
If you already have a PRODEV.DAT file, the information in the file created in the IPA interop
directory must be merged into the existing PRODEV.DAT. Additional information is available in the
Pro to IPA setup troubleshooting document.
I
receive an error after installation of IPA 7.2 on
Windows XP systems indicating that the file lmgr325a.dll
could not be found.
This
is a known issue. There are two dll files that are
required for running IPA 7.2 and earlier versions
on Windows XP systems. These files can be downloaded
from the following link: xp_dlls.zip.
After downloading the zip file, extract and copy
the dll files to the c:\Program Files\Immersive
Design\IPA 7.2 directory or the location in which
you have installed IPA.
I
receive an "Access Denied" error when
installing IPA
You
must have administrative privileges to install.
If you do not have administrative privileges on
your machine contact your system administrator to
complete the installation.
My
CAD system is Pro/E and during installation I am
prompted to browse for the load point of Pro/E.
The
installation folder is the top-level folder where
Pro/E is installed as shown below. After selecting
this folder you will be prompted to browse for any
additional versions of Pro/E that you would like
to use with IPA. In the case below you would browse
to the proe2000i folder to link IPA to this version
also.

After uninstalling IPA, I am getting error messages saying
"pro_to_ipa" not found when I run Pro/E
The messages are the result of Pro/E not
finding an Auxiliary Application for dumping out IPA models. To correct this problem, locate your config.pro.
In the config.pro
there is a line that starts with PRODEVDAT and points to the prodev.dat file that is in the IPA
installation area. Remove the line in config.pro that points to the prodev.dat file in the IPA installation area and
the Auxiliary Application and the error messages will be gone.
