Design CEO To Present 3D PDF Generation At PDF Conference 2005 In Washington
DC Adobe Acrobat® and Adobe® PDF bring
the power of 3D to the mainstream user
Acton, MA - September 19, 2005 - Gregory Smith, CEO of Immersive Design,
Inc. (http://www.immdesign.com),
an industry leader in 3D product communication, will be presenting an overview
of the generation and usage of 3D in Adobe Acrobat® 7.0 at PDF Conference
2005 (September 26-27) in Washington DC (http://www.pdfconference.com).
PDF Conference 2005 produced by Carl Young is the premier event for Adobe Acrobat
users who want to increase productivity, streamline workflow, control paper piles,
and maximize ROI. The PDF Conference delivers expert solutions to organizations
that rely on PDF. With three distinct tracts, a diverse breakout schedule, peer-presented
case studies, and the chance to network with industry leaders, the PDF Conference
offers distinct value to every Acrobat user and the most comprehensive
Adobe Acrobat training available.
3D For The Mainstream
Although
the use of 3D product design software has increased dramatically over the years,
the re-use of the 3D design data outside of engineering, especially in the areas
of assembly methods, service procedures, and parts catalogs, has not. The combination
of text, 2D drawings, re-generated images, and paper can be an expensive, time
consuming, and a painful means of communicating.
The use of interactive
3D procedures can dramatically cut down on misunderstanding, miscommunication,
and mistakes compared to just 2D drawings and text used for instructions. One
of the major drawbacks for 3D documentation has been the issue of
distributing the 3D information. With Adobe releasing Adobe Acrobat 7.0 with 3D
viewing, one of the last major hurdles has been overcome.
"The usage
of 3D outside of the engineering departments has gained significant momentum with
the release of Adobe Acrobat 7," said Gregory Smith, CEO of Immersive Design.
"With many manufacturing companies looking to leverage their 3D engineering
assets but having very few options for exposing the information, Adobe has given
the world a truly workable distribution method. Presenting at The PDF Conference
2005 in Washington DC allows us to meet the most influential members of the PDF
community at the exposition that provides the highest level of industry exposure
possible."
